Associate Data Scientist jobs Description

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

You’ll be crunching numbers using big data from the police department to figure out what makes investigations successful and what can be done to improve them, especially in different communities.
You’ll be a mentor and guide research assistants, both grad and undergrad, working together on research projects.
You’ll share your research findings at national conferences and write reports, policy briefs, and other useful stuff that can help make the criminal justice system better.

Qualifications Requirement

You’ll need a Ph.D. in economics, public policy, criminology, or a related social science field by the start date of your employment.
You’ll need strong quantitative skills, including experience in econometrics, causal inference, and working with large datasets.
You’ll need proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python).
You’ll need a proven track record of productivity and self-directed research, including publications or working papers in relevant fields.
You’ll need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
You’ll need experience mentoring research assistants and managing research projects in a social science lab or similar setting.
